AMES, Iowa (BRAIN) — With German distributor Messingschlager scaling back its presence in the U.S. market, industry veteran Nyle Nims has rebranded his Iowa-based 3PL business as Cycle Source Logistics. CSL specializes in providing third-party logistics services to clients both within and outside the bicycle industry.

Two years ago, Messingschlager acquired Cycle Force Group and North America Cycles, previously founded by Nims, from bankruptcy. Following the acquisition, the distributor established Messingschlager USA, which distributed Messingschlager’s proprietary P&A brands. Additionally, under the leadership of CEO Pat Cunnane, the company secured U.S. rights for the HEAD bicycle brand and reached a distribution agreement for KTM bikes in North America.

However, earlier this month, Messingschlager announced that HLC would assume the distribution of its in-house brands, M-Wave and Ventura. Cunnane indicated that further announcements regarding the future distribution of other brands previously handled by Messingschlager USA, including KTM and Head bike brands, would be forthcoming.

Meanwhile, Nims will operate Cycle Source Logistics (CSL) from a one million-cubic-foot Iowa warehouse, personally owned by Nims, previously leased by Messingschlager. CSL continues to collaborate with several offshore bike brands, with Nims actively seeking new business opportunities both within and outside the bike industry.

“We currently partner with various bike and e-bike-related brands, and we’re expanding into other product categories. Regardless of the business type, our focus is on efficient inbound and outbound logistics,” he stated.
